WraTh responds to the Pentagram

WraTh, the bassist in the US based Westward Circle, responds to Nightspirit’s Pentagram, five sides of a star.

WRaTH clearWhich 5 bands / albums / places / countries / whatever are your favorites / inspiration?
Musically my influences range all over the place. I think Paul Barker, from Ministry, has to be one of my biggest influences for learning how to actually play the bass guitar. As unbelievable as this may sound the country of Norway has played a big part of it in the recent years. With so many metal bands comming out of the country and what they are producing, I mean wow, talk about resetting the standard. My favorite album from as far back as I can remember up to now is still “Enthrone Darkness Triumphant”. I mean that just showed that its not about trying to become a popular musical act, but more about putting your own thoughts and views into something which people would enjoy and maybe even carry a similar interest in. Another big one is just the everyday common people you meet. This world as disgusting as it may seem still has a lot of good people trying to hold it together, and seeing something like that pushes you to do as much as you can. And finally, world affairs. I mean you can’t make this kinda stuff up. How crazy things are in today’s times. It really motivates you to do something about the environment you live in.

What does the metal mean to you, and apart from music what entertains you?
Peoples attempt at letting the world know that they do not agree with something, and that they do not have to. And for enjoyment I just like meeting people from around the globe who do not base their decisions on what they see from the media, but from what they have seen themselves.

Which song would you wish was yours, and why?
Definitely has to be Tormentor of Christian Souls, from Dimmu Borgir. That’s when I knew I wanted to express my own views of what I thought was wrong with society.

If you could turn back time, what would you do differently?
Honestly, I’d destroy all the mirrors in the world, it might have slowed down the world’s progression into its own vanity.

On your tombstone it’s gonna say:
On my tombstone I would like it to say the following: One man can not make the world stop, but one man can make the world tremble in his presence

Any final words, wishes, or regrets for the readers of Nightspirit?
If it wasn’t for people like you, people like me would probably live underground.

Takk,
Your friend indebt forever,
