Alessio, singer in the Italian extreme metal band, Kenos, responds to the Pentagram and talks about their latest album, X-Torsion, released earlier this year via My Kingdom Music.

Kenos is an “Eclectic Death Metal” project, based on music composition with no limits of any kind.
KENOS project started in 1996 with the idea to create a Death-Metal band as “Underwise”. In 2001 after some line-up changes the band’s name changed in KENOS. We have till now released 4 releases: “Rigor Mortis” MCD in 2002, “Intersection” CD in 2003, “The Craving” in 2006 and “X-TORSION” now that is our last act.

Why should people buy your album?
X-TORSION is the masterpiece that we would have always dreamed to realize, draft of “a colossal” production that has been involved various musicians of international reputation which they have been demonstrated from quickly enthusiastic to take a part in this ambitious plan… the agreement with My Kingdom Music could be the start of a glorious future for our band”

Which bands/albums is your inspiration?
No one particularly. But everything we appreciate becomes part of our inspiration.

What’s going through your mind when you are listening to your own music?
It’s difficult to explain, I use to bang my head meanwhile, but of course for us it means to live again the moments that pushed us to write these songs and these words!

What sound is the best, and what is the worst? Why?
Best sound: Naughty horny female whispers
Worst sound: Those fuckin birds you mentioned, at 6 o’clock in the morning!

If you could choose one song (any song!) to be yours, what would it be, and why?
“Highwayman” by Johnny Cash because it is the image of the kind of attitude which will always remain the same, regardless of time passing by.

Where do you see yourself/the band five years from now?
Wherever… but still rocking!!!
